A statewide official in Texas will speak at a conference on Narco-terrorism next week in San Angelo.

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples will deliver the keynote address at the Angelo State University Narco-terrorism Conference On Tuesday, August 21st.

At his presentation, Commissioner Staples will debut a video series titled, “Texas Traffic- True Stories of Drugs and Human Smuggling.”

The interactive presentation from Staples will detail the ongoing border crisis in the Lone Star State and a call for more federal resources to secure the border.

The three-day conference at ASU is titled, “International Transborder Narco-terrorism: Addressing a Changing Environment,” will address drug cartel crime and drug trafficking at the Mexico border are feeding increased gang activity, human smuggling, transnational terrorism and money laundering.
